The newly redesigned 2026 Boucher BG-41T-GM represents a significant evolution from one of today’s most respected boutique acoustic builders. Handcrafted in Canada with exceptional attention to detail, this instrument features Master Grade, fully torrefied tonewoods throughout, delivering an immediately open, mature voice straight out of the case.
This guitar is built around a 5A Master Grade torrefied Adirondack (Red Spruce) top, paired with torrefied Brazilian mahogany back and sides. The torrefaction process imparts a dry, broken-in character with strong fundamental clarity, quick note attack, and impressive dynamic range. The result is a guitar that responds effortlessly to light fingerstyle while offering ample headroom for aggressive flatpicking.
As part of Boucher’s recent redesign, several key refinements have been introduced. The updated tapered V shape neck profile feels more traditionally inspired while remaining comfortable and modern, offering a familiar, played-in feel across the fingerboard. A through saddle has been added to improve energy transfer, sustain, and overall tonal consistency, along with a more traditional OM-style bridge that enhances both tone and visual authenticity.
The OM body shape combined with a 25.5 inch scale length provides excellent string tension, projection, and balance. The low end is clear and authoritative, the midrange is articulate and focused, and the highs are controlled with a refined shimmer, making this guitar equally suited for solo work, ensemble playing, and studio recording.
